Overview
Two weeks of freeride coaching, designed to build the skills needed to ride powder and trees with confidence. This is a NEW CAMP FOR 2027!
If you've been hesitant to go too deep into the trees until now, this is the one for you. This camp is all about building skills and confidence in a progressive and supportive environment. Are you too hesitant to carry momentum when the trees get tighter? We can help. Do you find it hard to get on your toeside in powder? We got you covered.
This intermediate-focused freeride camp starts out at our local base in Madarao Mountain Resort, then heads off to explore some of the other amazing resorts in the region including Nozawa Onsen, Myoko Akakura, Lotte Arai, and some more secret spots in between. Daily transport to all resorts is provided, as are transfers from the local train station in Iiyama. The start and end dates specified above are the ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE DATES (i.e. not on snow).
Whilst this camp is focused on riding off-trail in the trees, the coaches will sprinkle in some all-mountain freestyle and a little carving on any non-powder days. This helps to build your movement patterns and can be continue to be implemented into your freeriding.
Skills & Focuses
Some of the core skills focused on during this camp include (but are not limited to):
- Build confidence riding in the trees
- Develop the skills to hold momentum riding powder
- Learn how to initiate your turns with commitment
- Develop tactics & techniques for varying snow conditions
- Read terrain and improve line choice
- Manage bumps and transitions in freeriding
- Explore secret stashes with coaches who know the resorts
- Try your first pillow drops or side hits
- Find the best snow in the region each day
- Ride with a great crew & make life-long friends
This camp has a nice balance of both coaching and guiding, with a little more focus on the coaching side of things.

Please read our FAQs for further understanding of how the ratio of coaching and guiding is applied on camps.
