CAMP3 Clubhouse Employment Opportunities - Madarao, Japan

Clubhouse Madarao is the base location for CAMP3 snowboard camps in Japan. We run 10 weeks of camps from early January to middle of March. Only CAMP3 members stay at the lodge and the vibe is FUN!

For winter 2026-2027, we are seeking 2 lodge hands (ideally a couple) to join our 3 returning staff.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Chef, the 2 part-time lodge hands will be responsible for room changeovers, making breakfast, assisting the chef for evening meal prep/service, and snow clearing duties.

The lodge hands are work-for-accommodation roles, have no pay attached, but also don't require a work visa. Opportunity for a paid role is possible for someone with a work visa already.

About the Location

Madarao Mountain Resort and the Madarao Kogen village is found on the border between the prefectures of Nagano and Niigata, in the heart of the Japanese Alps.

It is about a 30mins drive to both Nozawa Onsen and the Myoko resorts like Akakura and Suginohara. It is about 45mins to Lotte Arai, X-Jam and Ryuoo, and 1hr to Shiga Kogen. It's also only a few hours on the train to Tokyo.

The Clubhouse itself is about 100m from the closest chairlift, right in the heart of Madarao mountain village. It's an amazing location!

About the Lodge

We call this a Clubhouse, rather than a lodge, because everyone who stays there is a member of CAMP3 (which is officially registered as a club). This means that ALL the guests are there for the same reason; their shared love of snowboarding and the CAMP3 community.

Reservations to stay at the Clubhouse are done through camps only, meaning there's no way to book here without joining a camp. This creates a unique, community-focused vibe, where everyone gets to know each other really well. It also means that camp members treat the Clubhouse like a home-away-from-home. Everyone pitches in!
