Overview

Part of our new EXPERT-ONLY camp series, this speciality camp is focused on the topic of TRANSCEPTION!

By popular demand, the theme of transception, explores side-hits, rock drops and transition features, in a wide variety of terrain. The term “trans-ception” combines transition and perception, and was coined by a few of our CAMP3 coaches (credit to Chris Rogers for the original idea) when discussing the unique skill set we develop when taking freestyle to natural terrain. Coached by Stubbsy, this camp will be taking the transception concept from the playful Cardrona bowls of Soho and Willows, into the bigger natural terrain found in Treble Cone's Saddle and Motatapu Chutes areas.

Note that this is an expert level camp with no exceptions. Think Level Three instructor standard riding! You must have ridden with CAMP3 previously and be listed as an expert rider, or be approved by a CAMP3 coach.

Some of the core skills focused on during this camp include (but are not limited to):

  • Read transitions and distances
  • Learn to gap features
  • Improve your overall airtime
