Overview

This Level Three "Bridge the Gap" instructor training camp is focused on instructors starting to explore the skillsets required for Level Three riding and teaching standards.

It is ideal for Level Two instructors from other systems such as CASI, looking to work towards the SBINZ or AASI Level Three. For those strong enough, this camp can fulfil the SBINZ endorsement process for CASI Level Two instructors to move across to SBINZ Level Three.

It is also suitable for SBINZ Level Two instructors in search of some further training, prior to attending the SBINZ Level Three Workshops.

This camp will get you riding out of the Level Two instructor box and begin exploring the movement patterns you need to reach Level Three. Ride with some the most experienced Level Three Examiners in the world and fast track your training!

All camps need a minimum of four people to run, with a maximum six per group. The camp includes a 2 day trips to neighbouring resorts of Nozawa and Myoko. It also includes a welcome dinner, 2 additional dinner nights during your stay at the clubhouse, plus transfers to and from the local train station. The start and end dates specified above are the arrival and departure days (i.e. not on snow).

  • Build knowledge of cause-effect relationship
  • Explore methods to quantify movements
  • Develop board performance in freestyle, freeride and carve
  • Understand turn type variations
  • Build analysis skills specific to SBINZ
  • Explore advanced teaching concepts
  • Begin creating your own progressions


This camp is very coaching-focused, ensuring all the skills required to move forwards in your Level Three pathway are covered.

Ability Levels

This camp is specifically for Level Two Certified instructors from any system. This includes Mandarin speaking Level Two instructors, (who will work with a Mandarin-speaking trainer). It is ideal for CASI Level Two instructors looking to transition to SBINZ (our coaches can advise you which NZ level is most suitable to work towards).

If your goal is SBINZ Level Three, use this camp as the beginning part of a longer season of training. Add the SBINZ Level Three Workshops, followed by our Level Three Training Camp and maximise your progression!


Inclusions

Coaching & Training
A total of 5 days of training at 5hrs per day.
Lift Passes
5 days of lift passes at each resort you ride at.
Accommodation
7 nights of accommodation, with daily breakfast, at our very own Japan CAMP3 Clubhouse Madarao.
Food
Daily breakfast (with a wider variety of choice than previous years) and 3 evening meals spread out over the camp.
Transport
Daily travel to each resort and transfers to and from Iiyama Station.
Off-snow Additions
Transport down to the local onsen 2-3 evenings per week, with time to eat dinner at the restaurant. Video analysis sessions to breakdown and analyse your riding in more detail. Evening beers and banter with the crew!


Not included: flights, train travel to Iiyama, insurance (must cover off-piste and park riding) and your snowboard equipment.


Accommodation & Transport

Accommodation is on a twin-share basis (with ensuite bathrooms), at the vibing CAMP3 Clubhouse Madarao (just 100m from the chairlifts of Madarao Mountain Resort), with daily breakfast and a welcome dinner on the first night. Check out CAMP3 Clubhouse Madarao here.
A VERY limited number of single occupancy rooms may be available at an additional cost of ¥‎5000 per night (¥‎35,000 for the duration of this camp). If you wish to reserve a single occupancy room, please indicate this in the comments box in the booking form below. Note that we cannot guarantee everyone a single occupancy room.
Transfers available from Iiyama Shinkansen Station (bullet train direct from Tokyo) are available on the camp start and end dates. Dates shown are accommodation arrival and departure days.
