Overview

A one-week All-Mountain Snowboard Camp, based out of the CAMP3 Clubhouse in Madarao Mountain Resort, Japan.

This camp is focused on all-mountain riding. It explores the fun and friendly terrain available throughout the resorts of Madarao and Tangram, where tree-lined gullies, playful sidehits and epic powder stashes are ready and waiting. The coaching focuses on building skills in all aspects of snowboarding, including freeriding, freestyle and carving.

It includes four days of all-mountain coaching at five hours per day, with highly experienced and certified coaches. This camp also includes six nights of accommodation at the newly acquired CAMP3 Clubhouse Madarao, four days of Madarao/Tangram lift passes, a welcome dinner, plus transfers to and from the local train station. The start and end dates specified above are the arrival and departure days (i.e. not on snow).

Check our FAQs for more details on CAMP3.

Skills & Focuses

Some of the core skills focused on during this camp include (but are not limited to):

  • Stance options and adjustments
  • Adjust equipment setup
  • Steering techniques
  • Pressuring techniques
  • Edging techniques
  • Learn to ride deeper snow
  • Build freestyle skills all over the mountain
  • Increase range of movement in the body
  • Build confidence riding in the trees
  • Explore freestyle / freeriding / carving techniques (depending on the group’s goals)

This camp has a nice balance of both coaching and guiding, with more focus on the coaching side of things to help you progress.

Please read our FAQs for further understanding of how the ratio of coaching and guiding is applied on camps.

Ability Levels

This camp is aimed at novice and intermediate level riders, with the potential for an advanced group too. At the minimum, you should be linking turns confidently on green and riding some blue runs. We are aiming to have two (or maybe three) groups on this camp, catering to novice and intermediate and advanced levels, however there is a chance that two of these levels may need to merge. The coaches will decide on the groups on the first day of the camp. Read about our five-stage ability level here.
