Overview
Two weeks of high-end, park and pipe-specific coaching for advanced snowboarders looking to push every aspect of their riding to the next level.
This camp is all about freestyle, learning new tricks, progressing on to bigger features and working on technique in the local halfpipes. There are a number of small and medium sized parks locally, plus a couple of more well-known ones in the region. As it's Japan, even in springtime you still get good powder days, but we'll be seeking out the natural features and building jumps on days like this.
We start out at our local base in Madarao Mountain Resort, then go and ride multiple different parks including X-Jam, Myoko Suginohara and even a trip over to Hakuba 47. There can be up to four halfpipes in the region, depending on the year. Daily transport to all resorts is provided, as are transfers from the local train station in Iiyama. The start and end dates specified above are the departure and arrival days (i.e. not on snow).
Like all our Japan camps, our base for these two weeks is the CAMP3 Clubhouse Madarao. We all stay together, in our very own clubhouse, coaches included!
The lead (and likely only) coach on this camp will be Richie Johnston.
